Re: Progress and Future of Mozilla the application suite

They are saying if you distribute the Mozilla GRE as the Mozilla GRE, you cannot strip it down to a just the little piece that you need and continue to call it the Mozilla GRE. You are still free to take the source code and modify it, fork it, whatever and call it your own project. Therefore it is still OPEN/FREE SOURCE. The only thing they are trying to eliminate is people stripping down the GRE but still calling it the GRE; when another program needs to use it, nothing breaks. It would be like you downloading the Linux 2.5 kernel, removing everything but the usb subsystem, and then distributing it as the Linux 2.5 kernel - which would be a lie because it isn't the 2.5 kernel, it is your stripped down version. This seems obvious, as in no one would do it, but there are dumbasses out there who do that to the GRE, hence the clause. Quit being whiny bitches and actually figure out what is going on before you post your idiotic comments.
