New project: Gnoppix

GNOME
GNOME

I'm starting a project which aims to build a complete, full-featured GNOME 2.2 desktop based on Knoppix.

Naturally, I will call it "Gnoppix", and already requested the hosting to SourceForge.

I'm accepting suggestions on what Gnome/GTK applications to include, please post them in the comments.

I will post an URL as soon as SF approve/reject my request.

Re: Don't just include apps

always including applications real name

Why? The real name is usually in the title bar and the about dialog. A lot of end users don't look for "Evolution", they look for a mail client. If someone who is unfamiliar with GNOME looks for a file browser, how the hell are they going to identify it by that silly icon Nautilus uses or by the name "Nautilus"? They won't. Redhat started icon/shortcut naming by function and it is a good thing for the core components of the desktop.
