Re: this is a *good* thing

Most people, 99% as you would say, do not need to touch these configuration options. So they will never use them. For example, most people who use a computer have it set up for them by the admin, so nothing needs to change. Why do you want to change sawfish preferences? Most people will never bother, therefore never see it. What about konqueror? Maybe you need to set up a proxy. Okay, if you know what a proxy is, you definitely know how to use those dialogs. See, hacking away all these cool options may seem to be making things better, but actually, they are making things better for 0.1% people at the cost of 1% of people. That is, people who like to fiddle with options for no reason but get overwhelemed easily are being catered for, whereas those who want to configure their computer and like doing it are being punished.
