Texstar of pclinuxonline, recently posted a bunch of screenshots from Redhat's 3rd beta release known as null. Redhat has made a huge effort via the use of similar icons and themes to make their packaging of GNOME and KDE resemble each other more closely . What do you think? (Poll Attached)

According to what RMS told me long ago, only if your app requires glibc, and doesn't work with other libraries.

The relevant part of the LGPL is

When a "work that uses the Library" uses material from a header file

that is part of the Library, the object code for the work may be a

derivative work of the Library even though the source code is not.

Whether this is true is especially significant if the work can be

linked without the Library, or if the work is itself a library. The

threshold for this to be true is not precisely defined by law.

That is in section 5 of the LGPL. If it "is true", then yes, all apps should show the copyright notice for glibc.

But hey, let's make a funny post about things we haven't even bothered reading!
