Red Hat
Red Hat

Texstar of pclinuxonline, recently posted a bunch of screenshots from Redhat's 3rd beta release known as null. Redhat has made a huge effort via the use of similar icons and themes to make their packaging of GNOME and KDE resemble each other more closely . What do you think? (Poll Attached)

Re: Redhat's new look

"You can easily change the icons back in gconf.."

Well, you can easily revert back to the original icon schemes. Its just that its much more fun to ignore that and flame away.

Look, personally I may not like GNOME icons being removed - I think they look superb. I understand why Redhat did it though. They're spending quite some money and time to ensure that new users won't feel like the desktop is a patchwork - which it does look like right now.

They're giving me the option to change back - which is more than enough for me. This is not about dislike for anyone at all - although you wouldn't know it from the overreaction. Its trying to make your product appeal in a highly competitive market where Windows is king. They're doing all they can to gain an edge - and if this gives them an edge ALL of us should be happy.
