Redhat's new look

Red Hat
Red Hat

Texstar of pclinuxonline, recently posted a bunch of screenshots from Redhat's 3rd beta release known as null. Redhat has made a huge effort via the use of similar icons and themes to make their packaging of GNOME and KDE resemble each other more closely . What do you think? (Poll Attached)

Re: KDE's reaction

Good God!

I dislike KDE for a number of reasons (licensing, code, look), but chief among them is the attitude of the developers and users. Put simply, they remind me of the worst kind of religious zealot. Crossing them is making an enemy for life; supporting a rival is an insult beyond all measure - RedHat is tainted by its close association with GNOME and has to be mistrusted... nothing they do is right, ever.

Read that dot.kde.org thread and be afraid, be very afraid. For example, take KDE developer Roberto Alsina referring to the removal of any prominent reference to which desktop you are using (KDE or GNOME - incidentally, removing obvious references to GNOME is a goal of the GNOME project since end-users simply don't know or care what it is called):

>But anyway, if it's real, it's stupid. It is like Stalin

>removing his dead enemies from official pictures.

Huh? It'll be Hitler referenced next - RedHat will be rounding up KDE developers and putting them in camps!!!

Madness.
