Overview of Changes in Rhythmbox 0.9.0

The changes are too numerous to list here, but the main focuses have been on stability and memory usage. So your Rhythmbox should be even more stable, and less resource hungry.

Rhythmbox has moved its development tree back to GNOME's CVS servers, which means it's easier to get a hold of it for people who want to live on the cutting-edge. It also means that development has picked up again (the last release was nearly 10 months ago), and that new features will be coming thick and fast!

Slow down a bit ...

I don't see the point in whining about the fact that glade is used. It's like complaining that UNIX is too modular. Please educate yourself first.

I agree that having a CD cover displayed (such as in Muine) would be an interesting added feature because then one can see at a glimpse which album the track being played is from.

I have 424 songs (mostly ogg) loaded in Rhythmbox and it starts up in about 1.5 seconds on a 1.6 GHz machine so I don't see the performance problem really.

I haven't seen a crash of Rhythmbox since ages so the problem is probably on your end ...

I checked the Amarok website as you suggested and the UI is horrible. It's as bloated as iTunes on Mac OS X in my opinion. We don't need that in GNOME. GNOME is about simplicity. Don't forget that. If you don't like that you should switch desktop environment.

I hope you feel better tomorrow.
