Overview of Changes in Rhythmbox 0.9.0

The changes are too numerous to list here, but the main focuses have been on stability and memory usage. So your Rhythmbox should be even more stable, and less resource hungry.

Rhythmbox has moved its development tree back to GNOME's CVS servers, which means it's easier to get a hold of it for people who want to live on the cutting-edge. It also means that development has picked up again (the last release was nearly 10 months ago), and that new features will be coming thick and fast!

It was your own personal truth, not a global truth

First of all, how does advertising amarok help anything? I personally would _never_ touch amarok because it's not a GTK-program. It doesn't fit in with the rest of my desktop, and using a QT program under Gnome looks just horrible. Actually, I think KDE looks just horrible no matter what theme they're using. So, there you go, amarok isn't the perfect solution for everyone.

"(Yeah, like GStreamer is able to stream in a song without lag)"
I've _never_ had any problems whatsoever. Even on the old P3 450mhz machine. If you have problems with Gstreamer, it's not rhythmbox's fault, it _may_ even be your own fault.

The UI is just fine for me. It doesn't take even a second to understand what the things do and how to operate it.

I have no need for plugins. The Album Cover Art would be nice, but it's not in my Top 10 wishlist.

But how is Rhythmbox lagging?

Also, tell me what's wrong with a separate UI and sound backend? I just think it's a good thing; both can be developed separately. And it works like a dream. Haven't crashed even just once in a year now and doesn't even take much of CPU time on the P3. But heck, what good would a SQLite or Mysql be? They would just mean I'd have to install more stuff if I wanted to use Rhythmbox, and I don't even have any use for Mysql or SQLite. I doubt many average users would either. Oh, and about the speed...I've got 1194 songs in my Rhythmbox list and it takes 3 seconds for Rhythmbox to start and load all of them.

I haven't tried the tagging feature, but I'd assume it's a bit buggy yet. But that probably will improve alot in next release. Besides, one could always use some other tagging software.

Oh, and don't blame Rhythmbox for everything! If you like amaroK, then stick with it, but don't come hrere to just to advertise it.
