GNOME Women

Hanna Wallach recently announced the formation of the GNOME Women project: "Concerned about the lack of female GNOME developers and inspired by the success of the Debian Women Project, Máirín Duffy and I have founded GNOME Women, a project to encourage more women to participate in GNOME development. At present, we’re starting small—just an IRC channel and a forthcoming mailing list—but I’m hopeful that the project will be as enourmously needed and successful as Debian Women. If you’re interested in getting involved, do drop by the IRC channel (#gnome-women on irc.gnome.org) or send me an email.

COMPLACENT? Who said anything about that? You probably need to consult a dictionary to see what COMPLACENT means.

"...take it out on others"? In what way was I taking it out on anyone?

"...valient, meaningful, ... worthwhile..."? Who said it wasn't?

"jack-asses?" Who's the JACKASS?

"brute?" Who the heck are you referring to?

"...flame me all you want....prove my point...?" Who's flaming and being rude here?

"...back-woods cave...crawled out....?" Who's throwing around insults here?

----- All of your rant just proves my original point. I find it laughable. Everyone wants free speech as long as they're the one doing the speaking.

Back to my original point. Women should not want to be in IT for the exact same reason men should not want to be in IT: IT IS A DEAD AND DYING INDUSTRY. The future is in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, etc.

BTW: This has nothing to do with whether or not women should participate in GNOME.

Chains find only willing wrists...so if you're willing, vote Republican.
