root is already root

root is already in full control; that is the point of being root.

logging in as root is the ultimate "show hidden files" on a Unix-like system. if you're not competent enough to handle what a root login gives you, you shouldn't have the root password. forcing root to "show hidden files" is therefore not only pointless but actively dangerous, because it might give people the notion that root is not all-powerful.
