GNOME and Ubuntu usability issues

Usability
Usability

Matthew Thomas discusses his experience with Ubuntu Linux. Meanwhile, he points out the problems with the famous distribution, which by default uses GNOME. Most of his concerns apply to GNOME as well. Read the full article.

Gee, we think Ubuntu is great

We would like to thank Mark Shuttleworth and his crew for a great distro despite what one complainer thinks of it. We have been using it under a production business environment for 2 months now, and really enjoy it. Usability? Well, we use it a lot and have not had any problems. In fact, we are now using the Gnome interface as much as KDE that we used strictly before (and both are available with Ubuntu anyway). It may not be perfect, but darn good, especially for free. Any employee (if he really is one) with that many gripes should be working overtime to fix them, not complain or write about them. And we do not care if it is not exactly like OSX or Windows. Ubuntu is nice as Ubuntu.
