GNOME - Future ideas

GNOME
GNOME

I've created an article with mockups and ideas for things that I'd like to see GNOME 3.* doing in the future.
The article can be seen here, with more ideas and things available through my blog, such as the Scoop proposal, and a mockup of how to make drag and drop far easier with spatial nautilus.

some opinions

extended folder view / tiled folders - a good idea, but we need a list view for files first (a la windows list - files organized from top down in several columns). browsing folders containing many files with nautilus is a pain in the ass, simply because the views currently implemented don't allow the user to do that task effectively (not to mention it feels like browsing the web - SLOW - but that's totally offtopic). that's something I think we definitely need to see.

extended menu at the top - macos ripoff, why do most gnome enthusiasts do everything to clone apple interfaces?

new task list applet - ok, I agree that vertical panels suck now, but is a new grouping method actually something people NEED?

application info display - totally yes. something like the system tray, but with more space would be great.

system applet - how is that different from what we have now?
