Gnumeric 1.4.3 aka "The End of The Line" has been released.

This is a bug fix release for 1.4.x with various minor patches. The main point of interest is that Ivan Wong has fixed Gtk+'s large window handing on Win32 and the 1.4.3 package for that platform is now considered ready for general usage. There are still missing pieces (printing and registry connections) but the core application can display smoothly now. We will post updated binaries on our download page when they are ready.

For best results, we recommend recent versions of Gtk+, Gnome Print, and Pango.

We expect that this is the final release in the 1.4 series. Work is continuing in
the 1.5 series.

Re: what's coming with 1.5?

Cairo? What does a spreadsheet have to do with cairo?

I would like to see two things:

1) improved scripting: finished python plugin, possibly other languages.

2) dynamic formating done right, which means not the lame way it is done in excel and OO. Why isn't there a spreadsheet application that would let you do things like "set the background of each cell to a color from a smooth gradient from white to red, determined by the actual value of the cell" or "calculate the rgb value of the font color from the values of given cells" etc?
