Hula is a really exciting project already in part because we think that we can fill a hitherto-unclaimed spot in the stack of open source applications and in part because we've "primed the pump" by basing it on an existing, functioning codebase: a Novell product called NetMail. NetMail already runs millions of calendars and mailboxes. What you want is Citadel

It sounds like what you're looking for is Citadel. Citadel is essentially the product that Hula wants to be two years from now. It's a complete, standalone email/groupware server. No tedious mucking about trying to integrate it yourself -- it's a standalone system that goes in quickly with an automated install script. Once online, it has a rich Web interface (you can even compose messages in richtext in a web browser without any wacky plugins), and the current version also has GroupDAV support, so you'll be able to use GroupDAV plugins for Evolution, Kontact, etc. to seamlessly access your Citadel calendar, address book, etc. It's really worth checking out: http://www.citadel.org
