I too would like a raise-on-click preference (and have manually created one), but Metacity's design goal is to make things that "Just Work" for as many people as possible before resorting to preferences.

So, apparently, people want a no raise-on-click preference, but they can't add one because it shouldn't be necessary. I guess it's impossible to have a preference (not in a menu, just in GConf) until the problem is fixed, though.

Also, why does Metacity insist on placing chat windows from GAIM over top of the GAIM contact list? I end up manually moving it every time. God does Metacity suck. #126792 #166524
