Why not just kill the panel and make a Windows taskbar?

Choice is confusing to common users! Let's take away choice!

Seriously, am I the only person who has had it up to their eyeballs with all the talk of common users? I'm capable of dealing with an IRC client, therefore my opinion no longer matters! Bah! concern yourselves with users, not just "common" users!

Honest to Pete, if you find the Applet dialog confusing, I question whether or not you should be using an alternative operating system at this point.

I realize this post will either be dismissed as a troll or out and out deleted for a serious lack of cheerleading, but if I'm not allowed to voice my opinion, why then should I try to convince my "common user" friends to use GNOME instead of Windows? At least with Microsoft products dev teams are willing to consider the wants and needs of a wider audience than "common users"!
