Re: GNOME-Fx 0.10.0 Released

Epiphany has that nasty database bookmark system that wont let you easily do nested bookmark categories. Epiphany doesnt let you customize your toolbars (I like my address bar on the same row as my buttons so I dont waste as much space). Epiphany doesnt support a sidebar for bookmarks or history, and it doesnt have a powerful plugin system that can allow it to support things like mouse gestures.

Firefox adopts my gtk theme, and looks (to me at least) like most other gnome applications. I've been using firefox (by that name and others) for quite some time now, and I have NEVER noticed the difference in button order. Why do people get so fanatical about the HIG? I think the HIG is one of the worst things to happen to GNOME - individual application developers should be able to make interface choices that are appropriate for their own applications rather than having to adhere to some asinine collection of design laws written exclusively for the purpose of making programs usable by stupid people who wont read documentation.

If somebody feels like defending the HIG here, I wouldnt mind reading some fresh arguments in favor of it, but spare me the "usability" pablum. I'm more interested in usefulness than usability.
