GNOME

GNOME Foundation is proud to announce the relaunch of the open source desktop integration bounty. The aim of the contest is to recruit new developers and to more tightly integrate the various projects that make up the desktop into a more coherent, and complete user experience.

This contest is sponsored & authored by Novell and is being administered by the GNOME Foundation

The contest consist of new set of small projects and also the unsolved old projects from the previous rounds.

Complete the hack, enter the contest, and collect the prize.

Unlike the round one and two, there is no time deadline. The completed project will go into the upcoming GNOME release, depending upon the freeze dates.

People participating in the contest will be hanging out on the #bounties channel on irc.gimp.org.

Re: Desktop Integration Bounty: Check-in 2 Cheque-out !!!!

Uhm yeah that's great.

-BUT-

There's one major problem. The problem's name is called Gaim.

I've tried to work on one of the bounties that involve Gaim. But the Gaim developers don't accept any patches! I'm not the only one with this problem. People have send several patches for the Gaim dnd file transfer features. But those patches just rot away in the endless abyss of bugzilla. It seems the Gaim developers don't even TRY to review them.

I've posted about this several times on bugzilla but nobody seems to be able to do anything about it.

Until something happens, Gaim-related bounties are next to useless.
