gTweakUI 0.0.6 has been released. So far we have three dialogs:

  • Extra Menu Preferences
  • Extra Session Preferences
  • Extra Nautilus Preferences

This release is beta but it is very usable right now. We plan to add more dialogs soon including galeon, panels, panel objects(menus etc) and gtk2 theme colors.

Re: gTweakUI 0.0.6 released

Maybe it is because the GNOME team is trying to make an effort to make the "right" choices instead of putting all options in one place and ignoring the issue of usability.

Some choices have not been well received, and this means that actions will be taken not to make the same mistakes in the next release, but they are better than the "non-choices" that govern the KDE Control Center.

Also development effort is not infinite, and there are more pressing issues like the awful "File types and programs" to be taken care of.

As mentioned by someone else, if the developers of gTweakUI come up with a good panel for changing theme colours, and integrated it neatly in the Theme capplet, I'm sure the GNOME team would be most grateful.
