gTweakUI 0.0.6 has been released. So far we have three dialogs:

  • Extra Menu Preferences
  • Extra Session Preferences
  • Extra Nautilus Preferences

This release is beta but it is very usable right now. We plan to add more dialogs soon including galeon, panels, panel objects(menus etc) and gtk2 theme colors.
If you want to help out we need translators (41 strings at the moment), coders, artists, etc.. feel free to join the mailing list on our homepage and introduce yourself.

Re: gTweakUI 0.0.6 released

Simply because the menu preferences don't update as nicely as toolbar preferences. So the maintainers for the menus and toolbars preference dialog don't want these preferences in there. Basically gTweakUI is allowing access to preferences through dialogs that maintainers don't want to allow access to from their applications.

gTweakUI may die as applications change but as far as I'm concerned in the mean time it is useful for people who want extra configurability. Besides, I think there will always be extra preferences that gTweakUI can provide.

Also.. this is a really simple project. If it does die I won't worry too much and if I need to make changes.. again, that is simple enough to do.
