GNOME 2.6 Rescheduled for March 31st

Gnome 2.x
Gnome 2.x

As a result of the recent web server intrusion, the release team has chosen
to delay the announcement of GNOME 2.6 until March 31st.

While we have determined that none of our released sources were affected, we
are showing due caution by giving the sysadmin team plenty of time to finish
their investigation and restore critical services. Apologies for the delay,
especially for all our friends around the world who have organised GNOME 2.6
release parties!

Many thanks to the (now somewhat underslept) sysadmin team and helpers for
their swift and thorough response. Please raise a toast to them at your 2.6
release party of choice. :-)

Re: GNOME 2.6 Rescheduled for March 31st

yeah... but there's always the fact that one can run OOo under windows and it feels much much better there than Abiword... Gnumeric doesn't run under windows at all. Office applications are critical and getting a step-by-step shift from windows is more likely than dropping everything and starting from the ground on linux with totally different applications. what i mean is that many companys and users are shifting to OOo right now and those will want to use OOo when they eventually shift to linux. so wile Gnome Office is more "Gnome" we should push for OOo, make it better integrate with the desktop and stuff like that.
