OpenOffice 2.0 Concept Overview and GNOME

This makes very interesting reading:
http://tools.openoffice.org/releases/q-concept.html. The document basically outlines the plan for OpenOffice.org 2.0. A significant portion of the document deals with GNOME integration. From a quick read, it seems that there is some overlap with what the Ximian guys are currently doing.

Re: OpenOffice 2.0 Concept Overview and GNOME

There's only one answer to that: OO.org is in the hands of Sun. FYI if you're not familiar with Sun, they don't exactly have a good management track record.

Open source works because people use and improve on what works and what fit their needs. If Novell, Sun or anyone else does something that doesn't make sense, people will just fork their work and move on. No reason to start with the conspiracy theories.
