OpenOffice 2.0 Concept Overview and GNOME

This makes very interesting reading:
http://tools.openoffice.org/releases/q-concept.html. The document basically outlines the plan for OpenOffice.org 2.0. A significant portion of the document deals with GNOME integration. From a quick read, it seems that there is some overlap with what the Ximian guys are currently doing.

Re: Why not KDE?

Also, they probably will be working closly with ximian guys as well.

Not to mention that Staroffice was bought by Sun, then freed as openoffice.org. Sun is pretty Gnome centered and Staroffice developers are working on openoffice.org too as a common basis.

So it's Sun + Ximian Novell working on Openoffice.org, apart from the community.
