OpenOffice 2.0 Concept Overview and GNOME

OpenOffice.org
OpenOffice.org

This makes very interesting reading:
http://tools.openoffice.org/releases/q-concept.html. The document basically outlines the plan for OpenOffice.org 2.0. A significant portion of the document deals with GNOME integration. From a quick read, it seems that there is some overlap with what the Ximian guys are currently doing.

Re: OpenOffice 2.0 Concept Overview and GNOME

It seems as if I find something on FootNotes everyday that makes me cringe at the fact that I'm not a full-blown Linux/Gnome user yet. The fact that I make use of either Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Quark, or The Sims (note: :-D) every day is why I've yet to ditch Windows entirely. My efforts of only switching into windows when I need to where exhausting, for the load time of shutting down linux, booting up windows, shutting down windows, booting up linux was just too much to bare.

I miss OO.o... Word is just too dumb for me sometimes, and its frustrating, and this upcoming new version with beter Gnome intergration sounds wonderful.

I miss gaim... a lot... AOL's AIM just flat out sucks.

And even though I am thoroughly addicted to iTunes for Windows, rhythmbox seems to be getting really pretty, too (although it needs to "copy" some of iTunes prettier features to win me over fully, such as album art, super-easy burning, and the best damn visualizations ever).

(on a side note... any news of a gstreamer mp4 plugin out there?)

Keep on pumpin' out goodies like these that this de facto Windows user is extremely jelous of... I'll make it back someday.

Back to browsing 50 or so other college kids' music library's on itunes...
