Arkpandora TTF - The MS Webfonts Replacement

Usability
Usability

Many people are still getting (by whatever means) the core MS fonts for their Linux Desktop. This project is meant to be as a replacement for some of these main fonts. They have been designed to match similarly with the fonts they replace. The fonts are derived from the Bitstream Vera fonts and are available under the same terms as Vera.

This pack is the Arkpandora font set.

They can be found at:

http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/gavindi/With this set, you get Aerial instead of Arial, Tymes instead of Times New Roman and Veranda instrad of Verdana.

Better Vera packages have been available long ago

So basically you took the fonts, rebadged them and wrapped them in a sucky rpm that doesn't even provides the level of fontconfig/xfs intergration the Fedora package (http://www.fedora.us/pkglists/9/stable/bitstream-vera-fonts-1.10-0.fdr.14.src.rpm.html) had for months ?

Pardon me but I fail to be impressed.

Some people spend time to get the packaging right working with distributiions and accepting hard reviews and you come months later witth a poor herzatz whose only innovation is naming changes. And then you trumpet it on footnotes.

It's a bit rich.
