State of the GnuCash project

The GnuCash project is having a hard time. We may be headed for a dead end if we don't reorganize and refocus our
efforts. GnuCash badly needs more manpower (not just developers), and needs
to get it quickly.

Would be good.

Look at gramps.sf.net and sketch.sf.net etc. etc.

Also you can't compare a webiste to a full on accounting software application so yes this application is essential and useful.

It should be a compromise between Quickbooks and Peachtree and I should be able to trivially make it work with Postgresql/Perl combinations like http://www.sql-ledger.com/ and build a simple Point-of-Sale/Accounting/Billing/Budgeting system ...
