State of the GnuCash project

to be blunt - how many people are actively using this application in a capacity they deem essential?

for most money management issues i prefer to use my bank's website - since that is where the money resides anyway.

as for financial planning, i think many people have lofty notions of itemizing everything they buy with a tool like this until they realize they are just generating more useless data and not changing their spending habits. of what use will it be in three years to know i spent $12.95 on magazines yesterday???
