No the "community" is not bloody well happy with it. I had a good moan about the intense suckiness of gnome-terminal with its new widget, and was roundly called a troll. jdub's only real answer was "it'll have to do, get a better machine."

Imagine... to use a command line terminal under gnome you require a powerful machine to render it at a decent speed. If that doesn't sum up just how arse-backwards gnome development has become, then I don't know what does. It's like dealing with Microsoft these days... no user input, everything comes down from corporate headquarters and it's increasingly dictatorial and obnoxious.

Incidentally, doing an "about" on gnome-terminal reveals it was the work of Havoc Pennington. My God... the man is a menace.
