Agreed. And people are welcome to hack on extensions/powertoys; surprisingly few people do,
though.

I wrote libwnck just so people could write all
kinds of strange pager/tasklist replacements, and
one of the purposes of gconf is to make control
panels a trivial thing to write. So these powertoys
should be simple to implement.

The truth is, even many computer enthusiasts
prefer usability to complexity.
