Here at Ximian we have been brainstorming a bit about what happens
next in the Evolution world. One of the ideas that has come up is a
substantial overhaul of Evolution's UI.

Since images speak better than words, here are the mockups for some
designs that Anna has developed: (this is just to give a very rough
idea of what it would be like; the icons and labels are not final, the
widgets are not the real ones etc.)

I like the way the present view on the left hand side is. And it doesn't bother me that it seems a bit "Outlookish" - it works.

I'd prefer if Ximian worked on improving some things such as ability to deal with encryption - hope you guys haven't forgotten about inline signing of emails, the fact Evolution does not recognize encrypted emails sent from other email apps, and all that frustrating stuff.

As well, it would be nice to have a more robust search - with the ability to search all folders, not just the one you're looking at.

After improving some of these things, then maybe it's time to deal with UI issues.
