Here at Ximian we have been brainstorming a bit about what happens
next in the Evolution world. One of the ideas that has come up is a
substantial overhaul of Evolution's UI.

Since images speak better than words, here are the mockups for some
designs that Anna has developed: (this is just to give a very rough
idea of what it would be like; the icons and labels are not final, the
widgets are not the real ones etc.)

What am I missing?

This new ui is just a replacement for the shortcut bar which Ettore says most people don't use anyway.

I use the folder view (I have LOTS of folders) because I find the shortcut bar useless, just as it's useless in Outlook.

They're going to get rid of folders which everyone uses and replace it with an attractive version of what everyone does not use?

Everybody is commenting on how good looking (It does look great) this is but why is this different than forcing everyone to use the shortcut bar that they don't use now?
