New GNOME2 default theme proposal

Eugenia over at OSnews has published a proposal for a new default theme for GNOME2. This is a follow-up to a recent article
about GNOME2 where she says: "Gnome's default widget look is a very boring one, and maybe one of its weak points [...] most users stay with the defaults, so these should be attractive and make sense". I must say the proposed theme looks very, very nice, and I would really want to see this as the default GNOME theme.

Re: New GNOME2 default theme proposal

Also in regards to list views, it seems that there are 2 different styles, one with lines between items and one without. A choice needs to be made in regards to this, as they (including tree view) are the same widget and widgets should produce consistant results.
Applications set a hint to the theme for whether or not alternating colors should be used. The idea is the alternating colors are very helpful on multi-column trees and lists (like the Nautilus List View), but just visual noise on one or two column views. However, the application is only providing a hint. Ultimately, it is up to the theme how to display the tree or list.
