New GNOME2 default theme proposal

Eugenia over at OSnews has published a proposal for a new default theme for GNOME2. This is a follow-up to a recent article
about GNOME2 where she says: "Gnome's default widget look is a very boring one, and maybe one of its weak points [...] most users stay with the defaults, so these should be attractive and make sense". I must say the proposed theme looks very, very nice, and I would really want to see this as the default GNOME theme.

Read the comments on osnews and she explains there. ALL the icons in the main mockup are there just to show where icons should be placed, they were NOT part of the proposal. They were random icons placed there just to guide the developers as to which pixel is the starting point for any icon.

>GTK developers chose not to use ZSnake,

This is wrong. The GTK developers have never decided upon this, simply because ZSnake is a brand new idea, first shown by BeOS Dano a year ago. But no one else has ever implemented it nor suggested it. So there was never a decision from any toolkit group upon ZSnake. It is a new thing.

>and BeOS and the like did.

No, not even BeOS had it. Only the Dano *beta* of BeOS had ZSnake and that version was only *leaked*, it was never released to public!

>Why should they conform to the standards of others when they have already establshed their own.

Read above and you will inderstand that this is not the case here.
