Rhythmbox development is pretty slow at the moment, if it hasn't stopped at all.

net-Rhythmbox is a Rhythmbox fork, that is aintained by someone else. They forked when Rhythmbox wanted to try out a new UI and some people wanted to stabilize Rhythmbox, so they created net-Rhythmbox.

Both plan still plan on merging. They're not really that much different under the hood.

If you ask me, I still think net-Rhythmbox will at some time in the future become the de facto Rhythmbox and the original Rhythmbox will be abandoned. But that's only if you ask me.
